Welcome to the UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch, one of the most beautiful and unique regions of Switzerland. Entlebuch is Switzerland's first biosphere reserve and at present the only one.
The UNESCO Biosphere Entlebuch represents the pre-alpine moor and karst landscapes in the worldwide network of biospheres. Switzerland's largest and most numerous moor landscapes are to be found within a 400 square km area that has a flora and fauna of national and international importance.
The Biosphere Entlebuch offers not only peace and relaxation in pristine nature, but also a plethora of diverse leisure-time activities such as mountain-biking, hiking or golfing. The region can also take credit for a long cultural history. A tour of this multifaceted region of Switzerland, a fascinating page in one of the world's greatest picture-books, offers many highlights. The gold washing and coal mining that take place here plus the experience of the so-called Seelensteg, a stepped wooden path through a forest, are among the highlights of a trip to Entlebuch.
Besides unforgettable memories, you will be able to take home with you some of the 350 certified, genuine Entlebuch products.
